Astra F Fuel Computer Programming

(applies to Mk3 Astra)

The Astra Mark3, otherwise known as Astra-F had a fuel computer fitted to a select few models at the top of the range.  While it was a factory option, in fact the computer was only really fitted to GSI and Sport models in the UK.  Vauxhall produced programmes for all engines though, so now as these computers are being removed from accident damaged cars it's possible to fit them into other Astras and re-programme them to work in those.

I have spent some time sifting through Vauxhall TIS and compiled the following tables of memory idents and their correlation to engines in the range.  Click here for the full list in MS-Excel format, and here for the list applicable to UK models.

I can reprogramme fuel computers both for standard programmes using Tech1 (I have one of these) and for non-standard configurations.  I do it mainly as a favour to members of CavWeb, MigWeb and Club Calibra and as you will see I don't exactly earn a living out of it.  Standard programmes are relatively easy to provide, but I've recently been working on the ability to provide non-standard programmes for Astras that have been fitted with V6 or turbo engines.

How to get your computer programmed:

It's easy to get your computer programmed.

  • Standard programmes (Tech1) - NEW!

For standard programmes, simply fill out sections 1 and 2 on this form and send it to me with £17.50 and your fuel computer.  The price includes return postage by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery in the same packing you sent it in.

  • Non-standard wheels and tyres - NEW!

Non-standard programmes are now possible.  Fill out sections 1, 2 and 3 on this form and send it to me with £35 and your fuel computer.  The price includes return postage by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery in the same packing you sent it in.  There's a lot of work involved because I have to take your computer apart and desolder a component before I can programme it.  This all takes about an hour and a half of my time

  • Non-standard engines - Not at the moment!

This is a lot more complicated, so for the time being I'm not going to offer to do it.  I need to develop my tools more and will only do so if there's some demand for it, so do let me know if you need this doing and I'll consider it.

Simply click here for a form you can print out and fill in to send to me with your module.

Please Email me to make arrangements.

Notes:

To use a standard programme:

  • Engine ECU must be standard for the engine,
  • Fuel pressure regulator must be standard,
  • Engine must have come from a Mark 3 Astra,
  • Wheels and tyres should be of standard size.
